Being On

Since Tuesday night, I have been in Utah. I am here attending Evo, a conference about the evolution of women in social media. For the most part it has been an amazing experience. Today I woke up knowing that I had been "on" for too long. My mind was spent, I am social butterfly but today I was on empty. All I want is to be home with my boys but that isn't going to happen till Monday night. So I need to put my big girl panties on and deal.
I broke down this afternoon and called Casey in tears after trying to change my flight tomorrow and not being able too. Casey answered and I was bawling he was worried I was hurt, when I said no he asked why I was crying? When I answered I missed him and Ian, he laughed. They miss me too but they are crying and neither should I, what sweet hubs he doesn't want me to cry.
So my question is how does your body react when you have stretched it to it's limit?

Fan Girl Tears

Last night I walked into the ballroom where the opening keynote and party for Evo Conference was happening. I started to work the room, introducing my self to women and catching up with old friends/ When I turned around at my table I saw one woman at the table behind me to introduce myself. As she went to say her name and I realized in was Heather of The Sphors Are Multiplying, I was star struck (at that moment I lost my words). So I stumbled and wasn't my super fabulous self, it was like high school all over again.
Fan Girl Tears
See no lie, I was a hot mess.

Then the keynote began, and I was amazed by all of them. I cried many tears. That is another post. I just wanted to give you a sneak peek.

Surprise, I am giving away a the necklace that was on the table for conference attendees. Even if you couldn't make it doesn't mean you should get a little bit of the swag. Contest will run til from 6/25/10 til 6/27/10 sometime in the afternoon. Open to anyone, only rule just comment. Good Luck.

Home Routine

I have spent this week busting my hump to get my home back to shape. When we moved here in October, I never got it up to snuff, I just coasted through. Well after dwelling, pouting, and even throwing a few fits trying to get help. I put on my big girl panties and did it myself. I still have a few small things to do get it just right but I will get there. The sad thing is that I know when our lease is up I will have to start all over again, since Casey got laid off and was unable to find a job in the part of town. The commute would be killer, but that is all for another post. I decided now that I have it at the level where it just needs to be maintained that I would make myself a cleaning schedule.
Cleaning:

Everyday:
Pick up living room
Make Beds
Kitchen
Monday:
Laundry- Sheets & Towels
Vacumm
Tuesday:
Laundry-Bobbi
Bobbi and Ian's Bathroom
Laundry Room
Wednesday:
Laundry-Ian
Casey's Bathroom
Dust
Thursday:
Laundry-Casey
Vacuum
Office
Friday:
Laundry-Catch up

Kitchen Floors
Sunroom
Saturday/Sunday:
Maintain
What do you think? I think I made each day manageable with out feeling overwhelmed, does it seem like I am leaving something major off? I also thought that with fewer things to do each day that if Ian and I wanted to go do something, wee can get up get it done and out the door rather quickly. Do you have a home maintenance routine?

Musical Pony Rides

Horse

This past March, I attended a consignment sale with Jenny. While shopping I came across a rocking horse for the great price of $8.99. I remember how much I loved my rocking horse my cousins rocking horse, I may have grown up and only child but I didn't get everything. So I thought what a great deal to get Ian one, well I brought it home and you would have thought I brought home the boogie man. Ian was more terrified of it then the vacuum and that is saying something. Overtime he grew to love tolerate it, he might even occasionally ride it.

What I didn't realize when I purchased this particular rocking horse, is that it could play music. The sad part of this realization is that I didn't figure this particular feature out until today while vacuuming. Yes he has been part of our home for three months and no one figured this out.

Backyards, Hair Dye, and Revelations

When Lauren and I where dying my hair that ended up as the Blonde Gone Bad, we had a lot of time to sit and talk. After we finally got the babies to sleep, Avery in her room and Ian on the couch. We had no place left to retreat to talk but the backyard. While I was rocking the tinfoil hat that keeps the government from reading my thoughts and sipping some Bartle and James. We talked about the past, what we missed about ourselves from those days.

I realized that I missed writing fiction, I used to enjoy the world of fiction. It brought me so much joy to create a character an watch them evolve with the words in front of me. So I am going to start making time write again.

While were discussing all of this I couldn't get how much I used to enjoy blogging off my mind. I loved posting sometimes just pictures, doing meme's and so own. I feel like I have backed my self into a corner here, don't worry I am not quitting "When did I go from a kid to a grown up?". I have just decided that I need a place to do the things I miss about blogging, so introducing Bobbi Babbles.

Sniffles, Sneezes, and Slime

The Plague has taken over our home for the past week it attacked every resident in our home. We started out high class using Kleenex and Boogie Wipes but as the week went on we were using toilet paper and paper towels. As we seemed to be recovering from the cold that over taken our world, we (Casey and I) were hit out of no where with a tummy bug. Can't we get a break, luckily Casey was spared until after his job interview Friday. Sadly though he started feeling the effects right as he had to start his 3 hour drive home from his interview.

We have spent this weekend, recovering all of us. Ian and I are on the upswing finally. Casey is a few days behind us in the sickness cycle. I am hoping that by the middle of the week we are all back to our normal chipper self. Nothing is sadder then a baby that has a runny nose, doesn't feel well, and only wants his mama.

But that didn't stop him from giving me his first cheese, this past week.

Potluck

Here we are it is Monday again and kids what does that mean it is time for another round of Texas Holly of JuneCleaverNirvana's. After taking last week off since she had just came back from vacation, it is back and better then ever.

In the last week there has been so hope in the form of a job interview with a local firm. It went well as far as we can tell, the called him back after his first interview in less then two hours to ask him to have lunch and meet everyone. Now we wait to here what comes of it all.

Poor baby didn't hide much, since he was getting over being sick and scaring me to death.  He instead drove me crazy with whiny, screaming and crying out if as much as walked out of his sight. In the past few days he has started to become his old self and hid one of my favorite shoes.

Boy is was a crazy week for the us. We spent the Sunday before memorial day at Lauren's swimming and cooking out. Then Friday I got it in my head to dye my hair and Lauren agreed to help and ended interestingly enough .

In the past few days, I have seriously though about stopping blogging publicly. I miss writing for myself.  I don't spell well or use grammar correctly and I am tired of people constantly telling me this. I didn't start writing for others, I started writing for me. I miss writing from my heart, now it seems I sit and edit the heart out of it all.

What did you do in the past week? Anything interesting happen in the past two weeks?

Blonde Gone Bad

I have been hankering for a change, and I thought hair is one of the easy changes and hair always grows back. Lauren told me she could dye my hair, and I was all about needing change.  I have learned a few lessons out of this next time someone wants to take your from dark to light ask if they have done that before.

The end result wasn't pretty, nor was it the blond I wanted to be. My poor hair in a span of less then a fourty eight hours, has been taken to one end of the spectrum and back. I forgot to mention my poor wallet, I had to spend money we didn't really have to fix it back because at the end of the day I couldn't walk around looking like bozo the clown. I am not afraid to rock so crazy looks but there are some limits to my bravery. So after numerous hours in the salon chair I walked out minus about four inches of hair but at least it is a color found in nature.

The funny thing is I wouldn't change a thing, I love my new look. I miss having healthy hair, but I love my new cut and will rock it with pride.

Travel Newbie

I overpacked

In just a few days I will be flying out to Evo in Park City, Utah. I am luck enough to be attending mostly all do to the generosity of others. I have never flown before heck I have barely been outside of the state of Texas. We didn't take many vacations when I was younger. So I have no clue how to pack for this or what to pack. The general consensus is that I should take nothing but a carry on. This to me seems terrifying, I should be in over packing anonymous. I will take in tips, hints, tricks; you my lovely readers can throw at me.
My next quandary is that my flight sponsor bought my flight with frequent flier miles and I am flying in a day earlier then originally planned and out a day later. At the advice of many people, I more then likely will sleep at the airport on Tuesday night since my flight doesn't get in till 11:30pm. The main problem is where will I sleep on Sunday night since the reservation for the place I am staying during the conference end Sunday morning. Any ideas, remember I am strapped for cash so spending as little money as possible (hopefully none).
If you have any other advice about blogging conferences, packing, or travel I am all ears. I am a newbie to all 3.

Short and Sweet

Ian is improving, I know this because today has literally been all complaints all the time from him. We are glad he is feeling better, but overwhelmed by all the bitching and moaning he is doing.
We have so much to do today to prep Casey, for his interview. So I am going ask all you guys a question, the interview is a breakfast time interview at 8 in the morning. Do you think he should wear a jacket? Is having his interview so early in the morning a good or bad thing?

Suprises Around

This weekend started out great Saturday Ian and I went to dinner with my mom. Sunday Ian and I went to Lauren's to cook out and swim.
Picnik collage

We enjoyed spending the day with new friends and old friends. Ian was a brave guy and if he fell under water didn't freak out he would come up laughing.
Picnik collage

We woke up yesterday and oh how the tides had turned, Ian woke up super late then after he attempted to eat breakfast, he went right back to bed. Then after medication and a luke warm bath his temp wouldn't go down. By the time the ER checked him in it was 103.9, so we were immediately put in a room. After numerous test, where my poor baby was poked and prodded. We were sent home with a diagnosis of we think it is a virus, keep alternating medications, make sure he gets fluids, and don't worry if he isn't eating. I really wanted to be like really that is all you can do for him.
Picnik collage

Today we could tell he was feeling a little better, we got him to laugh and play some. He ate some of his lunch and all of his dinner, breakfast was a no go he just picked. While writing this he woke up and was a little warm, luckily it was time for his next does of motrin. After a few minutes of cuddling he was ready to go back to his bed. So here is hoping tomorrow he is back to normal, in reality I think it will be Thursday before he is 100%.

Also in the exciting news department, Casey has a job interview Thursday morning. Please send him good thoughts and getting hired vibes.
